My exhaust has almost zero backpressure. Open the airscrew an additional 1.5 turns and try a plus one hotter sparkplug. Have used this set-up for several years with no operating problems. May work for you as well, each bike is a unique machine, so experiment and see what works.

Having the turn signals right behind the seat looks great when the bike is standing still on the sidestand. I initially had my replacements mounted there as well, but after following while my wife rode the bike, I moved them to the rearmost holes. Small aftermarket lights are virtually invisible from the rear, especially mounted under the seat.

Rear fender is easy to smooth, just trim of pillion mounting loop and bondo smooth. Chopper style tail lights are available in most HD catalogs, especially those of European suppliers.

Buy a new brake hose and clutch/throttle cables if you haven't already. My clutch cable crosses the tank and the throttle cable hangs loose from bar to carb. I like that look, most viewers think it looks cheap. Stock brake hose os a couple inches short of what you'll need for front end movement.

Happy chopping. Sounds like you've made a good start on it.
